Kingsley Centre

The Kingsley Centre is where we were first established ourselves in 1987 as a unique place offering personal development for disabled people, alongside community development for the local people, in an inclusive and enabling environment.

As well as the base for the majority of our activities for disabled people, the Kingsley Centre is an established community venue.  The Centre has a village shop, Post Office, café, and a variety of activities delivered with the involvement of our disabled participants and volunteers.

Self-development and training opportunities

Village Shop

Our village shop was established to provide realistic retail training for disabled people and a much needed service to the local rural community.  Our shop creates meaningful opportunities for our participants and volunteers to gain retail skills and work experience.  These include operating the till, numeracy and money skills, stock control, customer service, food hygiene, shop displays and promotions, social and communication skills and basic employability skills.

Our range includes:

  • daily newspapers

All the profits from our Village Shop are invested in maintaining the Kingsley Centre and the work of the Kingsley Organisation. The shop is run by Kingsley Organisation Enterprises Limited, a Community Interest Company and owned by the Kingsley Organisation.
